DAAD programmes
DAAD programmes
The German Academic Exchange Programme (DAAD) offers a wide range of funding opportunities for lecturers.
Short-term and long-term lectureships
Via the DAAD, funds from the Federal Foreign Office can be used to finance stays for university lecturers from Germany at universities abroad. More detailed information about the funding conditions is available on the DAAD website.
Johann Gottfried Herder Programme
The Johann Gottfried Herder Programme is a DAAD programme that organises and funds stays abroad for emeritus professors. The minimum duration of these stays is one semester and their aim is to promote networking between universities in Germany and abroad as well as support the development of the foreign universities involved.
Programme for travel to conferences and guest lectures
Both programmes provide funding for foreign travel for researchers. The topical relevance of the lecture or conference is a requirement for receiving funding.
ISAP – International partnerships for studying and further education
Although ISAP primarily funds stays for students in specific programmes, it also funds stays for teaching staff within these partnerships.
PPP – Project-related staff exchanges
This programme provides funding for project-related staff mobility and short-term stays for university staff within the context of bilateral programmes. Funding includes, but is not restricted to, travel and accommodation costs.
