Gigamove

The Gigamove web application provides FAU employees with a means of securely exchanging large files (> 5 MB). Gigamove was developed at RWTH Aachen. All you need to use the application is an Internet connection and a browser that is up to date.

The website initially redirects you to a website called “Heimateinrichtung wählen” (select home institution), where you select “Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen Nürnberg” and then log in using your IdM username and password.

Gigamove enables you to exchange files with any FAU contacts in two ways:

1. You can provide a file, for which a secure link is automatically created by the application. Your contact can then use this link to download the file.
2. You can also use Gigamove to request a file. Gigamove generates a secure link for this purpose. Your contact can then use this link to provide the file.

If you include your contact’s e-mail address, Gigamove makes the process easier by sending the links for exchanging files directly to your contact. You can also select the option of receiving e-mail notifications from Gigamove as soon as one of your links has been used.
