FAU is a university with an international focus with staff from all over the globe. However, many administrative documents are (currently) only available in German. The information on this website is also provided mainly in German.

The following assistance is available for English-speaking members of staff:

  • Some forms and documents have already been translated into English and many have accompanying instructions in English on how to fill them in.
  • Let us know if you need assistance. The staff at University Administration are happy to help.

Have you seen any websites or documents on intern.fau.de that you would like in English? Please send an e-mail with the details to the Web Team. We will try and provide a translation from the department responsible.

FAU welcomed its new official data protection officer on May 20, 2023. The appointment of Klaus Hoogestraat from ITM Gesellschaft für IT-Management mbH means that FAU has, for the first time, appointed an external service provider for this role, one who has a great deal of expertise in data protection for research institutions.

FAU is a proud member of the “European Engineering Learning Innovation and Science Alliance” (EELISA). EELISA is FAU’s European University – an association of ten European universities. In the upcoming weeks we will introduce all members of EELISA. Today we talk to Antoine Mercier, deputy director for international relations at Chimie ParisTech PSL.
